Something to write home about?..

Well not really, it hasn't been incredibly exciting recently, i have rode my bike as much as possible, hit up some mileage on the road bike, attended a talent team assessment day at Sheffield EIS which was a great deal of fun, and an eye opener into many things i wasn't aware of. It was pretty cool as i got to take part in the strengh and condition tests too and it was mint!

The Athletes training room at EIS is something else.

I missed a Rotherham regional, but apparently it was super windy so i wasn't too bummed, i slipped down the regional table to 4th. Absolutely gutted I am.

Had some cool sessions at Chesterfield, Rotherham and Bolehills over the last week and Saturday and then on Sunday it was round 1 of the Autumn nationals and it was a pretty cool day, even though i felt pretty rouge on my bike - i just couldn't seem to get it wound up, i raced my age group 20-25 which they merged with 26-32 male so Flem and Speedy Reidy were in their with Dave Ives, Tuffy, Snaz, Boota and some cruiser riders, i had a good laugh all in all, and it was a super slick event finishing 2nd in my race group and getting a trophy (mint!) and 4th in the 16+ payback and securing myself a tonne of cash.. haha ;)

Preston is a really cool club with a massive volunteer base, they'll go far as they are all so keen. The autumn national was a success and with some track changes they could be in contention for holding a national one day for sure!

Riders of the day for me the ever improving Billy Luckhurst (good to see all you guys!) Dave Ives (I tried to "bazza" the bazza but to no effect i ended up on my arse in the tarmac [see below].. I'll never forgive you, its going to one hell of a quiet plane ride to China!) Andy Restall getting rad, Callum impressive as usual, Tuffy throwing bacon all over and the most stylish mofo on the circuit Boota laying it down yo!

A mint day, a quick drive home and a curry with Will Cash Money and the new Tarentino film Deathproof - wicked!

Coursework for my level 2 coaching course is coming on, buts its a struggle, and hot chicks and douchebags party this weekend at Wills pad should be a cracker!

I'm out - peace!

Kneeboards and updates!

Last night we had a works do at Rother Valley Country Park, it was a skiing trip on the cable system that they have there, and it was freaking awesome! :) My first attempt was ugly on the kneeboard literally making it off the pontoon, i got about 3-4 metres in and slammed - Dang! Second attempt was a little better making it as far as the first corner with one hell of a long walk back to the start. The key on the corners is to swing out and keep the cable taught at all times, so attempt 3 i pinned it wide for the corner the cable literally goes 90 degrees then pulls you back in it feels like you're going to have your arms pulled from your sockets, but once you catch up its all good again, the corners were the best bit! My PB on the kneeboard was 2 laps by which point my arms felt like that were about to fall off!

China is booked, flying out on 25th of May from Manchester - its going to be amazing! Get on it!

And that job opportunity? I got it! Interviewed on Monday offered the position today, same CAD thing, more money, smaller office, nice change of scenery! Boosh! Stoked!

I also hit up Mansfield Tuesday night and did random starts for the first time - it was wierd and so easy to become distracted on the longer wait for the beeps.. Its hard, but it makes the race not all about the gate, It is going to be used pretty much everywhere from here on out, so i'd better get used to it!

Bolehills session tonight too, the weathers great and i'm feeling good! :)

The Maiden Voyage!

Well a chilled weekend planned i went out last night and hooked up with Joe Wilson who has been away for a couple of months, Elbow was in the place, John and Katie, Big Dave White and a bunch of guys i'd never met before but they were well sound. We ended up in Dulo a pretty new joint that was banging hot!

Today i got up made the most perfect poached eggs on toast, had a brew installed a new lock on my Vito that Lauren bruk.. haha and then headed up to the Bolehills for a couple of hours, pretty damned windy but a good session as the STD crew were in the house, so that was fun. Pro Helicopter flyer Warren Harper showed up with his new spontaneous purchase.. The best one of 2007 apparently, it looks pretty sick but i'd rather a fresh new set of wheels for my ride! He's happy though! ;)

Then i rolled back to 51JR and headed to Rother Valley Country Park to get a sailing lesson from pro-racer Alec Townley.

His 2 brothers were in the place and we got our "Ready About lee ho" "Jibe-o" and "tacks" going on all over the joint. We nearly had it over a couple of times, but Pro-racer A to the T saved our asses!! Awesome skills bruv. Also the best knot tier in the game!

Here we are looking pro as fook.

Here's our ship. We roll strong.

51JR BBQ tonight then ride my bike tomorrow - all over the track!
