Update Smchupdate!

Reeto!

Been a good week since Peterborough it's gone superfast and i'm looking forward to a nice weekend of riding my bikes and catching some Z's. But not too many.

Work is set to get super busy, 50 hour weeks, 10 hour days, i'm glad its winter and i haven't got the indoor, otherwise i'd be having some major thoughts about these extra working commitments! I enjoy my work, but I also enjoying my life outside of work, and the time I have to do the things i want to do.

This week I went bouldering at one of the indoor centres in Sheffield and it was an amazing experience, I ended up joining and buying myself a pair of my own climbing shoes! It was such a great experience and after I had ridden home and loosened up a bit I felt pumped! You see some of the guys in there (and girls!) and they are absolutely ripped, I'm not exactly built for climbing being quite stocky and heavy, but i think if i can develop my strength through climbing, and do it often enough, it will be an amazing upper body workout, without the bullshit of pumping iron in the gym..

Plus it'll be fun. And thats what i'm all about!

I have checked out a gym and think i'm going to join it, its the student one in Sheffield, and it has a bouldering wall too, plus a nice big pool, so I'm thinking of really mixing it up this winter, bouldering, gym work for the old legs, swimming and road bike for cardio, and of course as much BMX as i can fit in, a few sessions at The Works indoor park in Leeds, and weekends hitting the tracks and riding any trails that are running.

Hopefully this weekend i'm going to head to Wales to ride the track in Wrexham ,that looks a heap of fun!

I got my iPod Touch on wednesday too, and wow, i mean really, Wow! I'm so stoked on it! Browsing the web, having all my music to hand, watching movies and looking at pictures, organising my calendar, it does it all, and i bloody love it already! :)

I was dreading this winter without the indoor BMX track, but i feel a lot more positive towards it after this week! Let's get it on!

Peterborough & Roundup of Autumn National series!

Good long weekend for me, a road ride Friday clocking up plenty miles on dem Essex smooth roads, good fun. Went out and saw my buddies friday night had a few beers and had a good old laugh, when i get together with them guys it never fails to be a good time! Saturday i hung out with the rents, saw my brother and caught up with things, then my mum and dad went off to the Maldives. Lucky buggers, they saw a bat. In the daylight. It was the size of Frank. Apparently.

Talking of Frank, he's reeto, the little bugger, i went home to see my old buddy as he was knocking at deaths door (like he has several times over the last 2 years) but as if by magic (albeit predictabe magic) he comes back healthy and bouncy again, although he sometimes does curl one out without realising it. eak.

Good old boy.

Rode at Dagenham for a couple of hours with the cool ghetto yoots, i like Daggers, but only for an hour, then it just gets a bit boring.. Oh, how it could have been!

Hit the casino saturday night with my mandems, was funny, but i didn't lay anything down, i'm far too cursed to gamble my money away.

Sunday morning i got up, well i was woke up at 6am by my lairy sister getting in from Fabric.. Sheesh.. The morning of a race - have they no respect?! So i was up, just hung with Frank and had breakfast, loaded the van and headed over.

I'll keep it brief, Peterborough is a hard track, not technically but physically it is punishing, so with that in mind, i decided after 5 hours sleep, a 90 minute van journey and not a great deal of food to go by, to race 2 classes. Ouchie.

I did alright getting a 2 1 2 in my 20-25 motos, and something, something, something in the pro-open, there was 8 of us, so we decided rather than nail ourselves we'll take it steady and just hammer the final, and have some fun in the motos.

So i made the main in 20-25, got lane 1, moved over nicely and got a good line into the 1st turn Dan Whyte lead it from start to finish (enjoy L.A youth!) i was in 4th but poor old Tuffy, lad was pooped, he blew the last straight and i passed him to get 3rd behind Dan and Alan Hill, so i managed 2nd overall for the entire series, which was a touch. With Tuffy in 1.

Pro open i got the gate of my life and was leading that badboy elbow banging with Cal on my inside but i didn't back down i held him off and got into turn one in front of him, but Alan Hill laid it down and pulled ahead it was toight like a toiger then out of nowhere Brad Watts snuck right on the inside a ballsy moved that shut a lot of us out, i had to roll the big doubles, my race was over - Dang! Oh well. Props to brad, young up and comer with the will to win.

Props to Billy Luckhurst, nailed his class, improving al the time, MC emo didn't race.. Hate the game, not the player.

Goodbye to the Crowthers, an awesome family off to Oz, all the best and have an amazing time, reserve me a spot in your yard in 2009 for the Australia worlds! :)

After a good meal with Lauren I headed back to Sheffield - I was exhausted!

A good weekend, saw a lot of my good friends, old and new, good banter with the Goldcoast crew as per normal, drama on and off the track, good weather, road bikes, BMX, nice cold beers and good food. Nice one.

Bolehills.

You're the best.

Had one of the best hours riding ever last night, things came together, the corners were sticky and felt awesome to carve, the track was smooth and fast, and everything just went my way. I love sessions like that.

Just wish i got a bit longer to play.

That is all.

Scream If You Want To Go Faster!

This weeekend was a treat, a massive riding day Saturday which consisted of 3 hours or so at Rotherham with all the Rotherham locals, Lauren and the Norwich lot, Joey G, Tim, Stevie Williams and honourary northerner Ben Forwood.. A really good session and a lot of fun, I love riding with the Norwich lot, an awesome bunch of people with great attitudes and some of the driest humour you'll ever find. I was laughing all day long!

I had to head over to Chesterfield later in the afternoon to pick up London Lad Terry Green as he was crashing at 51JR overnight and racing the Autumn National on Sunday, i got to Chesterfield with the plan to pick up Terry and head back to Sheffield way to ride the new Barnsley track, which requires little effort for maximum fun!

On arrival however, i was greeted by Dave Ives, Speedy Ready FAF, Terry, a few of the Rotherham guys, Tuffy, Chad and a bunch of other racer dudes, so ended up sticking round and riding there for 2 hours - it was mint.. Random gates, good banter, OJ phtography and Tuffy busting out the backflips. It was a mint afternoon! Dave Ives won in the highest wheel comp, Daz Reidy won in the old school king of dirt and Terry won the new school KOD with his Tel-bles and MX's. I fitted in somewhere between, OJ is going to send through some snaps so i'll get them up when he does, he packs some skills with the photo-box!

Saturday night Terry stopped over we had a good tea, and then headed in to town with Alec and RB.com. Joe Himself came and met us later on and we had a good laugh, a few beers and it was just what i needed! We then went to Bar One for an hour and i just chilled it, but Terry got loose on the Snakebites - haha! He loves a mash up! Alec on the red wine (?!) and RB.com looking dope in his 80's-esque beanie hat rolling strong!

Sunday morning, poached eggs on toast, juice, tea and some cereal I was pumped - no wind, blue skies it was looking to be an awesome day! We loaded up the van and headed to Chessy.

I raced 2 classes the 16+ Pro open and 20-25 Expert, a tenner to race both which is fantastic value. Numbers were up on Preston and there were some heavy hitters, Tuffy bros. inc. Chris Jackson, Alan Hill, Dan Whyte, Callum Strickland, James Chadwick, Rich Townsend, Alix Deakin to name a few. Wan was there too with a much improved first straight he is super confident and has a winning attitude, i think he could go far! The Butchers were there again, always a pleasure, Scott Dick with Princess Elise, but no Ryan or Alex, i thought they'd be well up for it! :( Some riders from the South West and all the usual suspects, it was a good turn out and music laid on by the G.Y.P.O crew meant a really good vibe! I remember walking back up to the hill after having a fun practise lap, thinking, "man, i'm so stoked to be here today!"

Racing got under way and i ended up having pretty good motos, making it into the main comfortable in 20-25 but with a 4 3 3 in the Pro open i wasn't sitting as pretty, i managed to make it into the main but ended up with 7th pick on the gate.

So lane 7 it was Deakin inside of me andrew Tuffs, the man with nothing to lose on my outside.. I got a good gate and pulled over on Deaks i got an alright 1st straight but i was getting pulled, i ended up in the 1st turn laying in 5th.. Action Jackson got a little bit loose over the doubles on the second straight and managed to hold up Hillybag i snuck on the inside and held my line to take 3rd in the money back class, pretty stoked with that result! I walked away with £24 for me efforts, so a free days racing! :)

In the 20-25 class i got 6th pick and took lane 6.. I got a better gate and was pulling down the 1st straight Dan Whyte was ahead of Tuffy and thought he'd closed all the doors, but Dan couldn't be all over the turn at once and Tuffy only needs the smallest of gaps, he ran him up and over and took the lead position this let me into 2nd i held my line and followed Tuffy home for 2nd with Hilly in 3rd and Jackson in 4th.. Stoked with that! And a 2nd place trophy for my efforts!

So an awesome day, great weather, Chesterfield did a great job, it was one of the best races this year for sure. Really good to see everyone there and i'm looking forward to Peterborough in 2 weeks time!

Comic Life!

Base, bass and bars..

An awesome weekend.

Dinner and the movies with Lauren friday night, then a coaching day at Derby there was about 40-50 kids all looking for coaching tips and some fun, TM Rich Camm was in the house we teamed up to take on the experts and i think the kids had a good time, we wrapped up with a mini race series, no accidents and plenty of smiles.

An awesome party at Wills house saturday night, Hotchicks and Douchebags was funny, Will was insanely mashup, some jobsworth with a "first aid qualification" called an ambulance, well done son! Paramedics have enough on their plate without certificated nominated first aiders living their life waiting for an accident or an emergency to occur so that they can jump on their high horse and holla the big dogs. Unnecessary.

Oh well.

It was still super funny, Warren, Alec and Cooper were in the house, i've blogged the party in comic format, i'll upload that shazzam toneet! Plenty of bass!

And then a few bars.

A mad ride on the road bike yesterday with my Homie John the German, sweet ride to Glossop and back taking in some of the best tarmac of the peak district, plenty of mileage i felt good, we had a good rythm and worked well with eachother to make it round in good time, plenty of base.

Base, bass and bars.. Awesome.

Then sunday night a few of my essex buddies came up to catch a hardcore show put on by The Legacy, some awesome bands in the place, Bridge 9's Ruiner, Revelations Sinking Ships my Essex homeboys band Life Won't Wait (amazing 1st show guys!) and a German band called Storm & Stress, who were, unreal. I was blown away! Was really good to see everyone and hear some amazing music. I love the energy of hardcore!

Cool as Ken weekend, wish it never ended.

Bolehills tonight for some bacon throwing and the lay down.

I'm out.. Comics later tonight! :)
