J'taime le piste de bicross!

Yo!
Counting down the days now before we head to the South of France for the roadtrip, this years gonna be big and i can't wait! Plenty of riders from Sheffield and Norwich and inbetween!
Paddy, Mooonbaay, Fozzy, Tuffy, Lauren, Joey, Ben Scoobs, Steve Williams, Jonny the Pirate, Ross Tricker, A to the T, Millsy, Dialled bikes Mike, Scott Waterhouse and myself plus a couple of other guys from Norwich who i've not met, so it should be an awesome laugh and everyone pushing one another to go big!

This'll be my fifth tour, a veteran no doubt!

Good luck to all the GB guys heading to Douai, wish i could be on that too, hope the BB bus does the UK proud!

I've had the pleasure of riding 2 trips with Ben Forwood and he'll be sorely missed on this years tour, right now i believe he's living the dream in Vietnam - thinking of you Ben, enjoy yourself man, we'll see you on the next one.

I do perceive..

Ey up blog readers! Whoever you are and where ever you may be!

Lot's of blog comments this weekend and i reckon i must be getting hit pretty hard and blogspot might wanna offer me some cash for this thing? You know how to reach me Mr. Blogger.

Anyway, it's been a good weekend and i got plenty of riding down, i'm feeling pretty shafted right now, and about to hit the hay at 10pm.. A regular occurrence for me lately i have to say. What a douchebag.

Friday night i hooked up with my brothers from other Mothers Will and Matt, we hung out, caught up, laughed and had an indian, it was tasty and fun! I rode home and it w
as so cold i wish i didn't have the burden of fingers to cause me grief.

Saturday I headed to Mansfield and it was full pro-town session with Marcus Bloomfield, Joey Gough, Tuffy, Jessop, Steve Taylor and G and all the cruiser bruisers. It was good session and i was getting some mint gates and my pull felt strong, so that was inspiring! It was such a beautiful day we all rode out there for about 3 hours, it was ace.

Today I headed over to B-rad-ford BMX and it was pretty lame! ha! The track is okay and i'm sure if the track had remained frozen or hadn't of frozen in the first place it's have been much better, but -6deg temperatures followed by sunshine and 100 riders turns BMX tracks into quagmires! I still managed some good races and pulled Oggy ad Gamble down 2 straights in the motos and semi - although they managed to get by me again, but still, a good feeling! In my final i had 3rd pick so took lane 3, right on the beeps my front wheel slipped I put my feet down and the race went! Mint! Oh well i chased and finished 6th. Was pretty pissed! It was the slippiest gate known to m an (Yes, worse than Bolehills!) and also full of slimy mud, something had to give. Dagnammit!

Headed over to Yeadon for a little play session after and than was good fun, really like that track! And Lauren got her jump on there too and seemed to be buzzing off it. Some good pump races with Flem and the BB crew. Good banter too.
Afterwards a few of us hit the pub for us tea, was delicious. Right off to bed, dentist in the morning, gonna get stung, i can feel it in me waters!

Wanna hear something nice? Check out Owen. Loving it right now.

Also if anyone is a diesel engine expert my glowplug light comes on for about a minute after start up, cause for concern? I've heard horror stories on Vitos regarding the glowplugs. Argh!

The sign on the devil?

On the bubble!

Awesome day, good session in the gym before work, hit 110, not quite my PB but after getting sick last week it has given me the confidence to step it up before i head to France. Heavy squat and deadlift session, left me feeling super wobbly! Had a little road ride at dinner to spin my legs out, such an awesome day it'd have been rude not to! I popped home and caught up with British Cycling coach Jez Hayes, shot the shit for a bit and then got back on the bike and headed back to work - sigh.

Tonight I hit Mansfield random gates, floodlit for extra dizzle! It was a sick session with the track running super smooth and fast, no wind (gasp!) and a good crowd. My gates were on point and the session was good fun,  stoked about that!

Headed back to 51JR and we had a BBQ, it was ace. Alec came up trumps - thanks bro!

Less than 2 weeks to the France roadtrip, man, I cannot wait! :)

Summer vibin'

This weekend was nothing short of awesome! I pretty much kept it on the D-L in the evenings, in an attempt to save money and also keep myself in tune, partying hard, as much fun as it is, and as much as i love it, has to take a back seat on the run up to China. I have a goal to be a consistent main maker here in the UK, and also to make the worlds main in 25-29. If i did that, all my work will have paid off, and i'd pretty much be stoked!

Alec came back last night and his weekend sounded hectic, i was pretty jealous as its been a while since i got real loose, but they'll be some big summer sessions to let my hair down and smash the lot up!

So Saturday we had the O2 presentation day at Bolehills, i was there for almost 7 hours and i loved every second, it couldn't have been a nicer day, perfect clear skies, loads of people sessioning, familiar faces and some guys putting in the miles to be there, it didn't go unnoticed, and thank you!

I think everyone had a wicked day, we did the cheque presentation and i'm hoping some cool pictures were taken. The star paid us a visit which was sweet and i did a little interview for Radio Sheffield, which, although terrifying, it was quite exciting! I had about 5 seconds worth of airtime, hitting the big time for sure!

On Sunday we were up super early, Lauren had her MX bike and was hyped to ride, so we roadtripped it along with Warren and Dev to the Desert, we arrived to be greeted by the po-lice and we were told if we rode, they'd impound the bikes, it wasn't worth the risk so we jogged it on and went to worksop instead. It was a mint day and it was incredibly busy, but I absolutely love riding motor bikes, they are flippin' awesome! Lauren seemed to have fun and was shredding on her old bone shaker, Dev on his mini moto and Warren on his factory KX 250f, the bike of my dreams! I rode whatever i could get my hands on, a hella lot of fun. I was Buzzing!

Sunday night i hooked up with Will and Greg and hit the movies along with Casper, it was good fun! i feel exhausted today, so planning on an early night then hitting gym in the morning. I didn't get anywhere near my target on Thursday night, i wasn't ready for it, so this week i'll be dropping the weight a bit, get my confidence back up and then hopefully thursday hit a new PB.

I'll put some pictures up later, there not up on the mainframe yet!

Quote of the week..

Warren hooked me this quote up a couple of weeks back, I still get a little buzz every time i read it..

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious battles even though checkered by failure than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much, nor suffer much because they live in the grey twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat!

I have a lot of time for that.

So i'm getting requests to update the blog now, man, i'm thinking about going Global with this bad boy!

The weekend was pretty hectic, considering i awoke to 2-3 inches of Sheffield snow on Saturday morning i didn't expect much to be going off, but a short trip to Sunny Mansfield-ietta and all was not lost, the skies were that perfect winter shade of blue, aeroplanes casting vapour trails in the sky, the wind was strong, yet graceful, and allowed you a break to nail everything on the track, it was a perfect day.

The Goldcoast crew were in the area and as per usual the banter was top form, laughs a plenty, full lap efforts, pump races, 10 meter sprint sessions and plenty of track skill time. We spent near enough 5 hours riding and i was proper spent up!

Evening wise not a lot happened i checked out Transit 10 which was okay and Warren, Mason and I sat back chillaxed and watched The Great outdoors.

Peep it, its big. A showcase of the best bits of the 2007 AMA outdoor MX season. A real treat.

Sunday I woke up when i woke up which was real nice, had a good breakfast and ran some errands, 51JR was in need of some TLC so i did some housework, man, my life is off the chain!

I headed up to Bolehills, bike and shovel in tow to do some more work, ended up with Paul and Pete doing another 4 hour session with some flow time in between.. By that point i was feeling it!

Been off the gym so far this week, as i don't feel my body is ready yet, Thursday session should be on, and i'm going big 120kg up in the place on the rack.. Only 3 more weeks left of this before France and i want to hit 130 or beyond.

Saturday session at the Bolehills, 12pm onwards, we're having the O2 presentation and a photo shoot with the local press.. Come along. I'm hoping closer come too, all this BMX drama, for just 30p!

Over and Out!

None Shall Pass!

Bought the new Aesop Rock vibe today..

None Shall Pass.

All I can say is packs the normal tight Def Jux production, and it's big. Aesop, the poetical wordsmith! If you feel hip hop on any level that notch higher than the commercial tripe in the charts, check it out.

Fresh 2 Def!

Had a big session down at EIS last night hitting the sprints hard and running a coaching session too. we had 5 Talent Team riders and Paddy and Lauren made guest appearances, so it was a fun session, in the last set of 4 big efforts the kids were all complaining, so i knew they'd found it hard. Endurance sets are intense and a great session to build a good base, which is essential in BMX, before you hit the 100% sprint efforts to develop that winning spin, you need a good base. So i'm setting these guys up for the harder sessions that are coming pre-season.

I got that Friday feeling!
