Yo!
Well thanks to the guys at O2 for really hooking us up! I paid the cheque in on Tuesday for £1000 that will go straight back into making the Bolehills that little bit more rad. Now, a grand don't go that far so we have to be wise with the money, we have some money in the bank previous and we'll be dipping into that too.. So a full resurface - Essential. A re-shape to the back straight - Essential. Altering the jump into the far corner, possibly. Moving the turn.. Let me price it up!
We have many ideas, but more are welcome, and we''ll need everyones support and help, if you can spare it. We are having a press day on the 9th of February, not sure what time exactly but it'll be around lunchtime, it'd be awesome if we could rally as many riders together as possible, throw some dirt about for the cameras, then throw some shapes on our bikes for the hot reporters that will be flocking there in their thousands. Perhaps.
We have other possible funding ventures, ABC grants which is directly linked to the old bill, a complicated one to secure but may be worth a look, a local PM has expressed an interest in sourcing some funding, and Pete is looking into a BIG grant that will allow us the big change or the starthill and the the re-alignment of the track. Exciting times ahead.. After all the paperwork that is!
Peep this..
Things have been good on the training front, hitting Mansfield floodlit gate sessions, EIS indoor pro gate sessions, going big in the gym hitting new PBs everytime like it ain't nothin'!
Got 115kg for 4 on the squat this morning followed by 95kg for 6 on the deadlift. Sheesh. I have a month of heavy stuff left then its sprints, sprints, gates, sprints more sprints, gates and track time and hopefully some trails.. Pheeeewee!
Terrys party was insane and for the first time in a long time i was proper torn up.
Funny times.
EIS tonight, chillax tomorrow, then Mansfield gates and a track session somewhere else with the Goldcoast massive on Saturday and i might do some digging sunday. wicked!
Over and Out!

Copenhagen girls on bikes!
Lovely blog
After a heavy session in the gym before work, i like nothing more than arriving at my desk, sitting back with a hot cup of freshly ground coffee and reading (see looking) this. Wonderful stuff.

BMX Action!
Yo!

Had a rad weekend filled with BMX action, friends, banter and good times!
Saturday we organised a bit of work party at the Bolehills, I got there early with my main man Pete and Lauren (thanks!) and we got down to the nitty gritty and started widening the straights out again ready for a big resurface and change up that we'll hopefully be having very soon. We were there for about 6 hours and in the last hour we dropped the spades and laid it out and had a mint session, Bolehills was a hive of activity and i was stoked to be there. There is always such a cool vibe at the hills and this weekend was no exceptions thanks to everyone that helped, TGN guys, Paddy, Tuffy, Alec, Warren and Devan, other SDS regulars and anyone that popped along and picked up a spade, much appreciated!
Saturday night there was a little bash at the Workstation in Sheffield for Blair Witch Si's birthday, was a pretty chilled affair, a load of the SDS massive were in attendance including the old skool, Rob and Hudu - great to see them guys! Just had a few drinks, a dance off, a white wall photoshoot and some pecan pie, Warren was stoked! Congraulations to Hannah and Warren Harper too.. I've seen a nice hat for the wedding that i'm gonna rock! Believe!
Sunday we headed over to Wrexham for a mint session at the track there, its amazing, the place shreds, if i could have that set up, with a pro gate in my future back yard, i'll be a happy man.
Always a good laugh with the goldcoast massive we were railing the turns and pinning the jumps, Vinegar Tim snapped his supercross -WTF! And Russ broke his wrist, a gnarly session for sure!
Then we went to crewe, this place is NUTS!! I got the 3rd and last straight down after a bit of a slow start.. I was goosed and to be honest pretty intimidated! But after a while i got into the steep take offs and equally steep landings and started having fun, it was super wet there though, so after a few laps i'd had enough, the lights there are on until 10 - Lucky!
I'll definately be making some trips there again once it dries out, the 1st and 2nd straights are serious! I've never seen anything so wide, steep, long or bad ass on a track, not in the UK anyway We need stuff like this to up our level for when we head to Europe to race, a lot of the stuff in the UK is quite tame, and i'm all for having stuff for riders to get into and use as a starting block, but then we need to progress and i think Crewe have taken it to another level. I can't wait to head back!
Ciao for now!

Coupla Pictures.
Wa'gwarn?!
Found a website with a whole host of great pictures from the weekend in Zwolle, some good skills and a swish photo box no doubt in use.. Indoor BMX racing is difficult to capture, but this guy has done a grand job.
Couple of pictures, a panoramic of the track, fresh eh?!

And a shot of me, day 2 semi, following race winner Remon Brink into turn one.. Cehck the focus, excuse the style.. I was goosed!

Oh Whoopsadasie!
So I couldn't get up this morning, it was raining cats and dogs and i really didn't fancy the ride to the gym, so i scked it off and headed there tonight. Hit the squat rack first which is my normal routine sarted out quite light and worked up in 10k each set of 8, on my last set i was going for 100kg, I loaded the bar, got it on my shoulders and got my ass to the grass.. BAM!!
Next thing i know i split my shorts wide open exposing my ass and my stripy pants to a gym full of meatheads and chicks.. Dang!
I still hit that PB though, so alls good.. I ain't scared!
I hit the leg press for some sets afterwards as i was seated I wasn't exposing myself, i thought i'd leve the deadlifts out though! I'll have to make up for that shit tomorrow morning now.. Dang.
Late!

Techno Techno Techno no notice
Holla!
Well I had a real fun time in Zwolle, plenty of UK in attendance, about 700 riders for the whole thing, the track had been put into the main hall at the Isstlehallen and was a much better layout than last years, the deal is they keep the dirt year in and year out, but as this was in a bigger hall they ran short. What this meant was an amazing 3 straights and a last straight that felt like you were riding through a Victoria sponge. It sapped your speed and killed the flow, everyone had issues, you know it ain't all that when you see elite riders pumping and pedalling through it!
But the weekend went well for me in general, Saturday i won my motos easy and got a 3rd in the semi behind Marco, it was the first time all weekend that i jumped the big double into the 2nd turn and it felt awesome - i was going to be making that a regular from then on! I ended up with lane 5 in the main, which wasn't great as the previous round winner Ruben Bi Zamble, a French rider that has serious horsepower, a great gate and first straight, was in one, and Remon Brink a consistent Dutch rider in 6.. Not to mention one day specialist Marco Del'losola representing it strong in 7.. I was going to feel the pinch in this one! Turns out i was right although my gate was good i didn't have it to pull ahead and clear got caught in the traffic and swallowed up. I ended up finishing 7th. Ruben took the win with Remon in 2nd with Marco in 3rd.
Day 2 i felt a bit better i had Ruben in my moto and managed 2 great laps to finish just behind him, in my 3rd moto i was feeling good, had a great snap and was level with Ruben into turn 1, it was a little smooth in there and as i turned my front wheel went from under me, i hit the deck pretty hard caused a bit of a pile up and finished last in that moto. I still qualified 3rd and got a decent pick for my semi gate. I had a a good start and Ruben on my inside unclipped, this allowed me to sneak ahead and follow Remon home for a sweet 2nd. In the main i chose lane 1 thinking i'd be able to move over, what actually happened is i missed the gate, panicked and messed up the 1st straight, attempted the 2nd straight doubles with no where near enough speed and managed a good old fashioned rimmer! Oh well, i finished the race in 7th again.
Stoked to be in the main both days though, and stoked to be the one of 2 guys rocking flats, the other guy never made it out of motos although he was a top 3 finisher in last years rounds, guess the DC WH training has been paying off a bit. I need to keep focussed and calm though, and I know i can do better.. It's all in your head.
Mint weekend and good rides from the UK crowd, Lauren made her mains and finished 7th and 8th. Shanaze killed it of course. Joey G rode well but didn't make it out of the motos, a big crash at the St. Ettienne round might have knocked the wind out of her a bit, i know she can ride better than she did, i'm sure she knows it too, kill it at Douai, Joey!
The Taylors performed well, good results from Chloe and Abbie making the mains both days with good finishes and a spot in the main for Dave Taylor too on the Sunday!
Marco one day specialist got a sweet 3rd on the Saturday and Andy Shaw 30+ SE Elite took 4th and 5th.
A super fun weekend, i love how the Dutch roll out a race, a real good vibe and very well organised. Plenty of euro pop/dance/trance/bigfishlittlefish, plenty of Kenny race wear, plenty of clip pedals and shed loads of peculiar Euro warm up techniques!
Hopefully find some pictures soon, there were plenty of flashes going off!
Super tired today, but back in the gym tomorrow morning, all eyes on China!

Hergen Fergen Schmurgen Wergen.
Well off to Zwolle in a couple of days for rounds 3 & 4 of the indoor European series, looking forward to it and i'm feeling pretty good! Laying off the gym again this week, but have hit the climbing wall for a few hours, done some core work and been doing some sprints too, starting out with an endurance sets, 5 for about 60 m one after the other uphill, then dropping it to 4 one after the other and finally 3 100% efforts one after the other downhill, i felt pretty sick afterward, but Alec made beef curry for the 51JR crew and we have sorted out a proper dining room, so it was rad to sit up right and eat tea with the homeboys.
This a video from last years race, an Elite semi, check the Orange! ARGH! The track was pretty cool so hopefully it'll be good again this year.
Going to do some sprints tonight again and then get my pack on.
Its funny over in Europe, I run 41 thermals and flat pedals and you can tell the euros got beef with the DC, they look at me like i'd look at some 40 year old on a chromed out Hutch with 18 piece bars and a layback seatpost eyeing up a pro section.. Guess they don't overstand what it takes to be rad eh?! Also no UK riders rep the lurid Kenny racewear that seems to be the "in thing" if your Euro, ludicrous colours and designs that are an assault on the retinas, gotta love 'em!
Can't wait to get Euro. I'll blog it up when i get back, hopefully have some good results and plenty of fun too!

Mint weekend, and some good old news!
Well, I've been a bit poorly this last week but I'm over it now and I've had a fantastic weekend, I hit gates at Mansfield on Saturday, was getting some good gates and had a really good session on the rest of the track. Good to see the powerhouse Jessop in the place and Joey Gough looking fast too, had a ride with her and Becca at Chessy afterwards which was cool, 5 hour round trip - dedicated!
I feel pretty good going into Zwolle next weekend and I'm excited about hitting up a race, its been ages since i got on the gate not just for practice! I love how the Dutch throw a race together, so I'm pretty excited about it all. Traveling with Lauren and her Dad in the Van, it should be a decent journey, I'm really not looking forward to the return leg though i'll be lucky to be in bed for 5 Mnday morning, and no time off work.. Sheesh!
Saturday night I hit the tiles with some friends and had a jolly good time, lots of funny stories and banter and just a few G&T's. Keep it clean!
Today i got up nice and early and headed over to Leeds with Steve Taylor, we hit the new Leeds track in Fearnville, which has had a great deal of cash invested into it, its a brand new facility and they've done an okay job, the first straight is a bit of a joke, but the rest of track, I'm sure, with a little riding in will be sweet as. We rode there for about 2 and a bit hours, Steve and I, the Goldcoast massive, Pagey and PT, and special guest star Ben Forwood. Great to see him out and about and having a roll round - naughty naughty! But still he looked real happy to be out on his bike, and I was stoked to be riding along with him. Nothing but love for you big man, keep on keeping on!
Then we headed to Yeadon a real old but super fun play track, i actually enjoyed this more, lots of banter and some fun pump races and Dave Ives trying to pull me.. In your dreams sweetie! ;) haha, was a wicked session and everyone looked to be having fun out there! A couple of hours there then Steve and I headed back. Alec had made a roast beef dinner, it were reet-o! I tells thee!
Anyway, this week is a 4-dayer, heading to Zwolle early doors friday, and I have some climbing, night time flood lit gates at mansfield, some light gym work and a little bit of road bike stuff.. Awesome :)
Super pumped for Zwolle, lets see if i can make some mains and thrown some big-steez for the overly tall, exceptionally friendly, and great race organising Dutch.
Nuttin' like the French eh?!
Oh, and the good news? Bolehills is to receive a £1000 award from O2 for their its your community scheme. Thanks guys! We'll be organising a bit of a do up there, as we were awarded as a "champion" project! Basically we'll get the money in a big old cheque have some photos for the press, talk a little about what we'll be spending it on and showing them what we have there, i'll let you know when we'll be doing and if you fancy a good old shin dig, and a chance to ride your bike in front of some hot babe reporter (?) then head for the hills!

Happy New Year One And All!
Hello hello and happy new ear to you all!

Christmas and new year have been really good fun, been off work from the 23rd of December and I go back tomorrow, so it's given me plenty of time to ride my bikes, have some family time back in essex and see all my friends, have some celebrations and relax a bit too! Plus catching up with all my geriatric animals too, Frank sees through another Christmas, this dog is unreal, 16 years old, and 3 Christmas's ago we all thought it'd be his last. Keep on going my boy!

Back to the daily grid tomorrow though, which I'm really not looking forward to!
I've been out of the gym the whole time, as i've been able to ride my bikes everyday, doing gates, riding the track, some trails in Essex and racking up plenty of mileage on the road bikes, i love it! :)
The gym is back on from Thursday but my training partner, Warren is back home in South Africa living the dream, lucky bugger, so i'll be going solo for a couple of weeks yet and then getting ready for Zwolle, which should be awesome! I feel good on my bike and do feel stronger too, so hopefully if i can get my gates down i'll be able to bring back a medal or something, haha.
Might have secured a grand for Bolehills too, so look out for a complete resurface and tid up with that cash! I'l keep you posted.
For now, going out on the bike for some fresh air and some shape throwing.
Ciao for now!
